Coronavirus (COVID-19, short for coronavirus-disease 2019) first emerged in Wuhan in the Chinese province of Hubei in December 2019. Since then the disease has been spreading worldwide. On 11 March 2020, the World Health Organisation (WHO) declared the global outbreak of coronavirus a pandemic.
